Adventurous interior designer for Danish-Chinese ship design studio in Guangzhou

We are specializing in passenger ship designs, and we are experiencing high demand for innovative quality designs and interiors. To support our rapidly growing business in China, we are searching for a creative interior designer to be based in our design studio in Guangzhou.

SinoDane is a joint venture company between Guangzhou Shipyard International Co. Ltd. (GSI) and OSK-ShipTech A/S. GSI is one of China’s largest shipyards specialised a.o. in RoPax, and OSK-ShipTech is one of Scandinavia’s leading naval architects designing ships for owners all over the world. You will be working in tight cooperation with designers, architects, and engineers from both companies.

CANDIDATE PROFILE
You are enterprising, autonomous and adventurous and could see yourself living and working in China.
You have solid experience with large and complex projects – and tight deadlines.
You have a strong sense of aesthetics as well as an eye for practical and durable solutions with heavy usage.
You have an inspirational portfolio with completed interior projects of different types.
You have experience in ship design.

You have proven experience within the following areas:

• Concept Designs
• Basic Interior Designs (implementing conceptual ideas in real workable designs)
• Technical drawing skills
• Construction skills and construction design including furniture
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Illustrator, and InDesign
• 3D Designs in CAD
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal

 
JOB PROFILE
You will join our team of ship interior architects, naval architects, and engineers, and you will be working on design concepts including on-board facilities and passenger flow. Among other things, you will be designing interior fittings for cabins, layouts of restaurants, galleys, shops, etc. as well as furniture design/ construction and customisations for ships, lighting, and decorations to name a few areas.

PRACTICAL DETAILS

Workplace & Reference
You will be employed on a local contract in SinoDane (Guangzhou SinoDane Ship Design Company Ltd., China) and will be working in our design studio in Guangzhou together with Chinese and Danish colleagues.
You will refer to Kristian Carøe Lind, Managing Director in SinoDane.

Working time & Salary package
It is a full time position following local workday practice for office hours, breaks, etc.
Occasional travels to global customers and yards as well as OSK premises in Denmark to be expected.
We offer a competitive local salary package matching your qualifications and experience.
Additionally, we offer a yearly return flight home, allowance for Chinese (Mandarin) language lessons, and an expat insurance package during the course of your employment.
