We are looking for an ambitious Photographer / Art Director Intern who loves visual storytelling and has striking aesthetics within photography and art direction. You love details, contemporary visual culture and most of all, you are structured, analytical and good at arguing your ideas. You like to take the lead on your projects and processes.

You will be working closely together with our Visual Director and the Editorial Team, as well as handling our in-house photography projects. You will support us with the look and feel of 5 across all channels and all types of content.

About us
5 is an impact media foundation co-creating a sustainable future. We tell stories on change and support initiatives through funding, resources and storytelling in order to accelerate positive change.

5 was founded in 2019 and has three offices, one in Copenhagen, Amsterdam and California. 5 has 14 employees, ranging from editorial staff to marketing professionals to management.

You will be joining a foundation that is in the early stages of its development, but already strongly grounded in its mission and vision. This offers a great opportunity for someone who wants to be part of the development process of a new initiative that bridges storytelling and charitable work.

About the role:
This is a full time paid internship, located at our Copenhagen office during Jan — June 2022.

Responsibilities
The photographer / art director intern will be responsible for:

- Supporting our Visual Director in overseeing and steering our look and feel in all touch points and across all types of content (imagery, graphics, animated content and video editing)

- In-house photography at our events, inside the organisation and editorial assignments for our articles if relevant.

- Sourcing striking on-brand stock photos for articles when we cannot create our own.

- Working with the editorial team on mock-ups and testing images for our articles before publishing.

- Exporting images for our customised CMS system in WordPress and finalising our layouts if needed

Requirements
What we are looking for is:

- A fluent English speaker as we are an international team. Additional languages are a plus

- A striking sharp eye for photography. You have your eyes on the latest trends in photography and social media and know what types of visual content engage people and drive traffic

- You have a strong understanding of briefs and can handle lights and technical issues connected to photoshoots.

- Good graphic design and video editing skills that can support our articles. Designing infographics, small graphic elements, video loops etc is a plus

- You promote inclusivity within your projects and you know how to empower people with photography

- You believe in positive nudging within climate communication for a sustainable future

- You are interested in both editorial and lifestyle (commercial) photography

(Not required, but a definite plus)
- Experience within social businesses, communities that work for the greater good or foundations that support a sustainable future
