In recent years, SLA has experienced international growth, and the studio holds a global position as one of the absolute frontrunners in nature-based design. The demand for nature-based design is increasing, and we, therefore, need an International Business Development Manager (IBDM) who can support and develop our market presence internationally.

The job
You will work with pre-qualification processes, bidding processes, business development, and communication within architecture, nature-based design, and urban planning in a creative and international environment.

You will be working within different markets and contexts globally with a specific focus on our key markets North America, the Middle East, and France, where we are experiencing an increasing demand for our services.

Based in the Business Development department at the Copenhagen Studio, you will work closely with the Design Director & Partner, Project Director(s) and your architect colleagues. You will experience a high degree of responsibility and independence in the job, so it requires an extraordinary ability to keep oversight of all steps in the bidding processes, a great ability to make qualified decisions in an at times high-paced environments, and great interpersonal skills.

As an IBDM, you will be i.e. responsible for the following tasks:
• Management of bidding processes
• Market research, research leads, and monitoring
• Preparing our pre-qualification applications, RFQs / RFPs / RFIs internationally
• Communication with partners and the client in the early stages of new projects
• Contribute to quote writing
• Support the management in the international sales work with pitch and marketing material as needed

As our Head of BD is on maternity leave for much of 2022, you will be solely responsible for handling BD for the market(s) until she returns.

We are looking for someone who:
• Holds 2-5 years of experience in business development, marketing, project management, and/or sales work
• Works in a structured way and is good at coordinating /organizing processes with several partners running simultaneously
• Has excellent writing and communication skills
• Has good visual communication skills and an excellent sense for layout (works routinely in InDesign and MS Office).
• Holds an interest and preferably professional experience working in the architectural industry
• Speaks and writes English fluently. Good language skills in other languages, e.g., Danish, French, Chinese, or Norwegian, are a plus.
• Is open-minded, hardworking, and proactive
