Graphic Designer
Awaze
Københavnsområdet
We’ve got an exciting opportunity for a Graphic Designer (maternity cover) to join our team near Copenhagen to help propel our marketing plans forward.
About Awaze
We’re home to some of the world’s most trusted travel brands, including cottages.com, Hoseasons, and Novasol (to name just a few!). Together, these brands make us the largest managed vacation rental business in the world. We’re proud to have over 100,000 properties in our portfolio, in 25 countries across Europe, giving our guests the choice of a fantastic range of properties and taking over 1.5 million bookings each year.
The role and key responsibilities
We are seeking an engaged and versatile Graphic Designer to make our brands shine and come alive, to push our design to the next level. You will be working mostly on our Danish Brand NOVASOL but also across our other brands with both offline assets such as brochures, posters, signage and merchandise and online assets such as social media graphics, email templates and web banners. The main focus will be on production and to help our marketing teams with their projects and goals while being mindful of consistency and the overall visual strategy of our brands. But you will also be a key player when it comes to larger projects, such as the ongoing development of the design strategy and photoshoots.
Being part of our design team, we want to encourage an open and curious culture so we can learn and grow creatively together. We respect our differences. We give and receive constructive and caring feedback and we are always interested in new ideas and viewpoints. Our focus is the common goal and not the individual gain.
What kind of person are we are looking for
- Passion for beautiful design and strategic storytelling
- Creative and curious mindset that enjoy exploring new ideas and develop creative concepts
- Proactive and independent attitude with a commitment to producing high-quality work
- Openminded and strong collaborative attitude with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams
Key skills and experience to succeed
- A portfolio showcasing excellent designs skills and a strong eye for aesthetics and striking visual storytelling
- Experience with and knowledge of print production processes and requirements
- Experience creating marketing assets for web and social media, with knowledge of responsive and mobile-first design principles
- Bachelor’s or equivalent in Design
- Expert level in design software such as Adobe Creative -Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Proficient in both English and Danish
Equally as important as all the technical “stuff”, we’re looking for someone who is hungry to learn. We don’t believe in standing still (we work in travel, after all), but instead think that everyone should be learning, all the time. Whether it’s a new design tool, an industry event or a mentoring opportunity, we will support you to grow your skillset. If you’re excited by working in a fast paced environment, are obsessed by all things customer, and want to join us on our journey, we’d love to chat.
What we’ll give you
- You’ll be supported by a team of genuine, passionate leaders
- Great colleagues and dedicated designers to learn from and collaborate with
- You’ll have the freedom to decide on the best way of working to get the job done. We work cross functionally, so you’ll be given opportunities to develop skills outside of your core skillset
- You’ll have the chance to see your designs reach a large audience
- Experience working with large brands with a strong heritage in an exciting and engaging business
- Possibility of working from home 2 days a week and healthy work/life balance approach
What else do you need to know?
This role is a maternity cover and while we would love to have you stay longer, we can, for now, only offer a 9-month temporary position with the opportunity to extend.
We want to make the application process as stress-free as possible, so typically we’ll have an informal chat with you on the phone, followed by a comprehensive interview over Teams, where you’ll have a chance to find out a bit more about the exciting things we’re doing (and maybe tell us what we’re doing wrong). We want to hear about your favourite (and least favourite) projects, what makes you tick and why. Then, we’d love to show you “our place” so would look to meet you for an informal session in our office.
We believe in equal opportunities and aim to create a team that is representative of our society, knowing that embracing differences enhances the capabilities of our business and makes for a happy place to work. We are proud to recognise and celebrate that we have a diverse culture where employees are accepted for who they are, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion or ability.
